In the fall of 1974, a group of young mothers gathered to form a “circle” dedicated to the work of First United Methodist Church, of Crowley., LA. Two other active circles existed, and were part of United Methodist Women (UMW) whose primary goal is to support missions of the UMC worldwide.

The ladies of the new “circle” felt the need for an active women's organization was imminent.
These ladies would continue to support mission work of the United Methodist Women, (and we continue to send monies or supplies to missions) but the primary mission was to serve our home church (1st United Methodist Church of Crowley) with our talents and gifts.

The name “Care N Share” was selected as the mission statement; as we would Care for our church members and Share the love of each other and Jesus Christ in our community and world.

As the organization was in its infancy, and all the women were busy mothers, they also agreed to value the individual talents and not criticize or expect each member to be part of every activity.

Through the years, many projects have been initiated and completed. Several are listed below:

Beautiful Banners that hang in the Sanctuary and the Fellowship Hall
Awnings that cover all entrances,
Flooring in the Fellowship Hall.
The mini-blinds in the Educational buildings
Choir Robes
Kitchen equipment
Window Air conditioners in offices
Cushioned folding chairs for the Early Morning Church Service in Fellowship Hall

Our projects completed for the year 2007 are:
Assistance with meals for the Youth
Purchase of 50 Hymnals $945.00
Kitchen Equipment $210.00
Choir Stoles $560.00
Carpet for minister and Secretary Offices $960.00
Donation to the Worship Committee $500.00

To fund these projects, we have our ANNUAL SPAGHETTI LUNCHEON IN FEBRUARY

We continue to support the Angel Tree project to send Christmas Gifts to the Louisiana Methodist Children's Home in Ruston.
All our members are available to assist with food and support for grieving families.

We meet the 3rd Wednesday of every month, excluding June, July, August…sometimes in a persons home, and sometimes in the Church Parlor. Wherever we meet, there is always much Laughter and Fellowship.
