HAVE A HAPPY AND SAFE THANKSGIVING!
I give you thanks, O Lord, with my whole heart
- Psalm 138:1
Since Sunday, I have seen holiday plans altered and canceled. It’s a bummer to not get to see loved ones or continue traditions you’ve had for as long as you can remember. It’s hard to imagine an alternative to what we’ve been looking forward to. Still I give thanks to God.
God has provided this year and comforted this year. God has strengthened and sustained.
God has called and God has guided, and God has forgiven us when have ignored Him completely. So, I give thanks to God. I seek answers to questions like: What else has God done this year? How has God surprised you? What unexpected place has God showed up? Give thanks to God for that!
This year I have found that the more I seek ways to thank God, the less bummed I am about how different this year has been. Thankfulness opens our eyes to possibilities of what can be and what is. When we look through eyes of thankfulness, the world opens up and becomes brighter.
Be good to yourself this week. Have a safe holiday.
Grace and peace,
Pastor Peter
PS. I thank God for the gift of YOU!
